DU often locks out everyone when they are having an embarrassing meltdown. It is their retreat to a safe space. They locked down when Pedo Biden malfunctioned at the debate.
I've seen it a couple times during election cycles when they're losing the election and their minds.

I've seen this operation before and they usually are just trying to hide a civil war raging among members.
They're probably trying to hide their plans for their next escalation of the civil war against the US which they've been helping to coordinate since Zero was occupying the White House.
The Civil War theory doesn’t make sense for yesterday and today, there isn’t much of anything to fight about and everyone is in a sort of hold pattern while waiting for Tuesday, passions are on hold until the results are in.

(so I’m locked out too) Likely walled off until after the election. 2020 they got absolutely blitzed with Pro-Trump posts and general posts mocking liberals and Biden. They decided the election trauma was just too much and closed the doors to the asylum until next week.

I think you can become a star member for any amount you choose, so it could be like $1. With it being a nominal amount, I’m guessing that they probably just want to get people’s real information so no one could post anonymously. Or even lurk with any degree of anonymity at this point.
For many years, they have been locking down to members-only whenever they are having a collective emotional meltdown. Going by the leftist moms I know, these mentally unwell people are ready to put any Trump voters into camps. For democracy.
