My late uncle Ted, one of my maternal Grandfathers brothers, related to me once about eating dinner at a friend’s house. He’d eaten his serving, and noticed their kid, who had a pretty noticeable pot belly, was in the process of out eating him about 3-1 in volume. He looked over at his friend and noted “your boy’s got worms”... They gave him whatever they used back in the day for intestinal parasites, and he had so many of them they (parents) had to assist the passing of them...
Nicotine in and of itself is an excellent insecticide. Folks used to spray it on plants after steeping tobacco in water.

My father used to keep a case of Copenhagen or Skoal in the freezer for the hogs as a wormer. Seems to have worked when mixed into their feed.
Seems to have worked as well as the vet supply store bottled stuff that turned white when mixed into their water. As a bonus, the hired help and I enjoyed a can or two here and there.
