Philip Glass vs Katy Perry...what to do?
A suggestion: music by The Carpenters.
Listen to the oldies vs new music to cure what ails you.
The new music will kill you : )
I played a little yesterday. It defintely lowers blood pressure. I still play an Echo harp as accompaniment. I always think of my pulmonologist and giving him the finger when I do so, lol. I’m sure he thought I would be dead by now.
One of my favorites...It makes me feel I should be in Bavaria tipping a beer, lol.

What has always speeded my recovery...
Getting the bleep outta the hospital.
Funny how well that works.
Also, singing out loud helps (for me). Sing a cappella (usually hymns), or sing along with recordings like Carpenters, (don’t laugh) Engelbert Humperdinck — something in a key that’s easy for you.
I believe that singing out loud helps keep you healthy, but JMHO.
I have a question about this. What kind of music are they going to play in a hospital? If it’s that stinking crap elevator music they usually have recorded, I’d just as soon take my chances without it. Need some music that’s a little more upbeat than what they usually have recorded. That stuff would make a healthy man sick.
People have known this for centuries. Since the beginning of mankind, music has been created during times of difficulty to relieve stress. For instance so much music we have today is based on the music created during the depression and from the economically-distressed areas of the Appalachian mountains.
There is a reason for the phrase “music to calm the savage soul”. It’s based upon reality. It’s why for years so many therapists recommend turning off electronics and playing calm music when upset.
Stress from a surgery or hospitalization is hard on the body. It increases glucose and blood pressure levels. Naturally when you reduce stress it helps the body heal quicker. Music reduces stress, therefore it helps in the healing process.
Mozart? Slayer? They don’t say
