It sure does.
Bttt
I would bet the parents are liberals. Look at what kind of example they are setting for their cheating son. Of course, Kamala Harris is also a plagiarizer and look where she is.
It’s Oregon so who knows if they win the lawsuit?
And unnecessary too.
AI is either going to improve scholarship by automating the search and collection of background materials or it is going to destroy scholarship by doing the thinking and work for the students so they can go out to drink and party 7 days a week instead of 3 and concentrate on video games and porn the rest of the time.
Harris? Is he related to another famous plagiarist.
What are the requirements and guidelines of the assignment?
If it ain’t banned, it’s ok.
Don’t assume anything.
Read a book and get an idea. OK
Punch some question in an AI bot and get an idea? Same thing.
Plagiarism, un-acknowledged passages bad. Kamala did it, but it’s ok for her cuz . . .
No “seems” about it. It’s no different than paying somebody to write your paper or do your project.
The poor kid has pathetic parents, too. I can’t believed they filed a suit for their cheating son.
“artificial intelligence is here to stay.”
It won’t be once the electrical generation system gets overloaded by “green new deal” mandates.
“Petrie and Andrew Hoey, the head of the school’s history department, told the students they would have to each start new projects separately, could not use any of their previous work, and could not use AI at all.”
So does the head of the school’s history department have two heads are something? Maybe a ‘split personality’, or perhaps ‘in transition’?
(and we really think we can beat China and Russia in WW3?)
Require the student to use in-depth quotations and references, with all references cited by title, author, page, list all sources used, etc..
then, make the student present the paper to the class, for a defense, with grade based on presentation, knowledge of material, ability to cite references, etc...
It means going back to doing it really “old school”
AI could assist, but regardless the student would be forced to really learn the material
No, he was offered the chance to restart the project instead of taking the F for cheating.
But maybe points for ingenuity, like that kid who "built" a clock.
I taught AP History once. I was amazed at the level of cheating by the students and the level of cover up or denial by the parents..... I always found the biggest cheaters were the AP students.
It sounds like they used AI to write this tripe.
Parents need their asses kicked.
Kirk reveals that he beat the Kobayashi Maru
The little git’s mistake was that he was too lazy to editorialize and modify the content the AI generated content.
AP history class paper on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s civil rights work. A worthy subject with an eye roll thrown in.
Too many American parents are cheating idiots themselves...
