I taught AP History once. I was amazed at the level of cheating by the students and the level of cover up or denial by the parents..... I always found the biggest cheaters were the AP students.

Yup...a few months after I graduated from high school I came upon a class mate who recognized me and he looked depressed. He said that he had benefitted by some shenannigans with officials at the school that allowed grades to be altered and that he had been moved ahead several steps in class rank along with a few others. He said I should be real angry as he knew that I had been shifted back at least 5 or 6 steps. He felt really guilty about this and wondered what he could do about it. I never found out what the quid pro quos were and what was required of the students involved but it did involve teachers/counselors.(Bribes? Perhaps kids of free Masons and other such organizations that were big in our town? I knew of one gay guidance counselor so who knows! ) Anyway when he expressed remorse(apparently he was able to get into a college with some scholarship) and asked me what i thought...I said to him "So you find yourself in a better situation by dishonest means. I tell you what you do with that...ask God for forgiveness then apply yourself as best as you can to make a good showing for the betterment of others. There's no going back now...learn from this! That will be payment enough for me"
