Lawyers for would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh asked Judge Cannon to recuse herself because she was appointed by Trump and praised her for her rulings, according to a 10-page motion filed on Thursday.
Federal prosecutors last month charged Ryan Routh with attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate after he pushed the muzzle of his rifle through the fence line at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course.

“Although Mr. Trump is the alleged victim here, he previously served as President of the United States. While in office, he nominated Your Honor to her current position as a U.S. District Judge on the Southern District of Florida. Your Honor thus owes her lifetime appointment to the alleged victim in this criminal case,” Routh’s lawyers wrote in the motion reviewed by The Gateway Pundit.
“After Mr. Trump left office, he was charged in this District with 40 felony counts relating to his retention of classified documents. Your Honor recently presided over that criminal case, and ultimately dismissed the case against Mr. Trump,” the lawyers added.

I'm trying to decide if those lawyers are daft, or someone has promised to "have their back". I would volunteer to judge the case--throw out all the sentencung and instead escort the guy to a pro Trump biker bar, explain who Routh is, with the parting statement: "No questions will asked, it will be treated like a complete mystery like Seth Rich, Vince Foster, or Epstein. Good luck, Mr Routh."

The “judge” from New York, Juan Merchan has his daughter making millions off the Trump case. I notice he did not recuse himself.
The other “judge” in New York (Arthur Engoron) that ordered a $500 million judgement against Trump, also is involved in skullduggery and did not recuse himself.
The same with Fanny Willis in Georgia. On and on. None of them recused themselves.

give him the ‘Trump Treatment’ where dems continually refuse to recuse themselves even though they donated to dems or are all over social media bashing Republicans or Trump.

Trump doesn’t get to choose his lawyers that are installed by RATS to go after Republicans. Stand up little man and take your medicine. This is a new fascist America without a fair justice system. Embrace the suck.

This is one of those “what if the shoe was on the other foot” situations. Unfortunately they actually do have a strong argument for a change of venue in defense of their client in this case. So does Trump with the judges attacking him in his cases. Cannon has even ruled on court cases in her court in favor of Trump himself. I think she would be totally straight up and handle it objectively, but If this situation is not a good reason for requesting recusal or change of venue I don’t know what is.
Life is hard, it is harder when you are stupid. Make better decisions.
