I think you are being glib. Overwhelmingly, people won't say that for a eulogy. But as a counter example, in the last few years, there were two eulogies by daughters trashing their fathers. (In one, I think she said he was a Republican.) Both made the news.

There was also an obit for a mother trashing her.
