It’s bad enough the Teamsters Top Floor don’t want to say they support Trump. What they really, REALLY, don’t want to say is that they’re still sending the R&F dues money to the DNC. And then we have the dock workers union guys saying they want protection from automation, as well as some big raises. Not a blinking one of them seems to understand is that their demands is the force that GUARANTEES automation. Don’t be surprised if at least some of the ports stay shut down long enough to back fit some higher tech machinery in their handling operations. If they actually like their high paying jobs they should think about how to be efficient and competitive?
I do hope everyone was listening when JDVance explained tariffs.
It is exactly the way I explained them here circa 2019.
Tariffs are assessed against the Country of origin.
>>>They are permission to participate the US market.<<<
The tariffs are payable at the arrival dock or the material doesn’t get unloaded.
This, too, is why it was so important that the Chinese NOT get operational control over the San Diego port. 😒
Operations can waive payment of tariffs to unload, in lieu of later payment.
Institute tariffs and the longshoremen will earn plenty money
No no! I understand California is going to put up signs at port entrances: NO TRUCKS ALLOWED - ONLY HORSE DRAWN WAGONS.
And right below that: BLACKSMITHS NEEDED!
Muslim extremists want to return to the 7th century... dock workers only wish to return to the 19th century.
