For those interested, the site is north of these coordinates in G-gle Maps 35°32’14.0”N 82°44’56.7”W (where the photo was taken from). Street view shows it being cleared before Dec 2023. Address is 2456 Smokey Park Hwy, Candler NC.

I don’t know what the site is for, and can’t hazard a guess.
