Good morning Linda
Results:
1st round bye
Second round win; into the semi-finals.
Third round (semi-finals) loss to the eventual winner; into the back draw.
Backdraw finals (3rd place). A win!
Went home, ate tons of protein and waited and for the cramps to set in.
Fortunately, they did BEFORE I went to bed.
At first sign I drank a glass of Gatorade with an extra teaspoon of salt, a baby aspirin and 75mcg of potassium.
Fought them for about 30 minutes.
Fell asleep in front of the telly (yeah...watching BritBox).
Feel fine this morning...might even go play this afternoon? 😉
Team Backgrounds
Partner and me: Combined age 112, age spread is 22 years.
First team (win): Combined age 54, age spread is 0 years
Second Team (loss): Combined age 100, age spread is 4 years
Third Team (win): Combined age 99, age spread 3 years.
This was the first club championship in about 10 years.
The winners are an established doubles team; they travel to 2-3 tournaments each summer.
All other teams were ad hoc with only my partner and I having real doubles competition \together\ before the tourny.
You did well against the much younger field and I admire the grit it took to even enter. You got an unlucky draw, having to play against the eventual winner, but it sounds like you gave it everything you had and did exactly what President Trump told all of us to do in our lives - Fight! Fight! Fight! Thank you for the update, CDY. We’re all proud of you here!
