How about floating antenna wires? Required tons of maintenance but always a joy to reinstall for my mates. Americans make a great team when we apply ourselves.

I get bored and depressed if I DON’T engage in critical thinking every day.

Can you get a check for that condition? If so, I want one.

engaging in critical thinking is not just hard work but also mentally draining and often unpleasant.

Then call me a sucker for punishment.

For me, listening to and being expected to swallow, without complaint or contradiction, flawed arguments is much more "draining" and "unpleasant."

Allowing those defective thoughts to seep into my mind and incorporating them into my worldview would be agony.

I was accused 40 years ago of thinking too much.

Ah, yes: That one time, 40 years ago, when you asked your sergeant why you had to paint those rocks along the pathway. Fun times!

Well, at least no one has accused you of that since then.

(heh-heh!)

They have their own ideas on what constitutes critical thinking. I read a magazine article many years ago...a professor said critical thinking was choosing to use cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers.

I’ll bet she never actually tried doing it.

Yes, since Trump said Republicans are the party of common sense. Who is controlling these narratives? Bad, evil people, I reckon.

firstly: What in heck is a "meta" anyway ??? Yet another 'big word' for a 'researcher' to appear ultra-intellectual and sophisticated ???

----- Oxford definition -----
met·a /ˈmedə/
adjective: meta
(of a creative work) referring to itself or to the conventions of its genre; self-referential. "the enterprise is inherently “meta,” since it doesn't review movies, for example, it reviews the reviewers who review movies"
------------------

So, in other words - "meta" is a 'circular reference';
"Critical thinking is emotionally draining because one becomes emotionally drained when critically thinking"

A gaslighting nonsensical term, typical of modern day Leftists ...........

Circular reasoning:

LesLIE Stahl: That’s been debunked.

Trump: How so?

LesLIE Stahl: Because it’s been debunked................

Meta as it’s now used in tech parlance means ‘all encompassing’.

Like Facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg’s company is now called ‘Meta’ and their logo symbol is the infinity symbol as a ribbon, AKA a Möbius strip.

Also you hear the term ‘meta data’ which means data that tells about other data but not the contents of that data, for example, telephone logs about the calls times and to whom, but not the contents of the calls themselves.

Like many other words, ‘meta’ definition can change over time to mean different things to different eras and topics.

Would that be ‘meta-meta’?....................😁
