The masterplan to end EV “range anxiety” forever....The US needs 28 million EV chargers by 2030. Here’s how it can get there.

The electricity comes from the magical electricity fairy, because it sure isn’t coming from the USA electrical grid. The US transport sector uses approximately the same amount of power you’d get from running all of the us’s nuclear reactors full time.

“The goal should be get as many urbanites into low energy use per mile since its low hanging fruit they already drive well under the limits of even a 150mile range EV.”
The goal for WHOM. Piss off, totalitarian

What about that part where your EV battery looses 50% of its charge when it freezes?

Don't know about the fairies, but some of the overworked power pixies are gonna go postal.

One might enjoy whatever convenience, savings or advantages EV-ism has, but the minute you have to sit down and plan out and research where and when you're going to have to take time out and recharge, the luster is lost.

“ Use aluminum.”
You do realize that aluminum has been banned from use for electric wiring for a couple of decades now.

Where exactly are they supposed to charge these magic vehicles? Where does a 5th floor apt. dweller just plug in?And with what for electrical generation? Despite all the happy talk and modeled numbers, solar and wind suck and do not appear to deliver their on paper promises.
And why am I paying with my tax $$’s to build a charging infrastructure that I neither want or need? NO ONE subsidizes my gas stations.
You like your ev...whoopty doo. The rest of us can do just fine without it and really resent the actions being taken to force, pressure and demand we like them.
So no thanks.

Here in the south (Alabama) I’m using solar to be pretty energy reliant. Our EV can take advantage of our homemade power. Thus, we do most of our driving in it (27K miles per year, with 15K of those miles being home charged miles for local driving, plus on each long trip the first 250 miles are home charged miles).
If I could make my own gasoline or diesel I wouldn’t have thought about an EV. As long as the Dims have their war on energy, then it’ll be very important to me to utilize decentralized solar.

It’s 2028. It’s been one year since you bought your first electric vehicleStupid me, I live in an apartment complex with several hundred other people and forgot that I have no place to charge it.

What’s your range in the winter when it’s 20 degrees outside, blinding snow storm and traffic slowed to 30 MPH and you’re towing a trailer with 2 snowmobiles for 280 miles?

Branch circuits. Aluminum is commonly used for big stuff. Service conductors, transmission and distribution, anything doing big amps.

Based on cost alone it’s not doable. 8 billion for 8 EV charging stations under Pete Buttlug so 28 million charging stations x 1 billion each... $2.8E16 🤔🤔

Idiotic. The analogous argument with gas is to say there are not enough gas pumps, ignoring the infrastructure behind the gas pump.
