Graphics experts have recreated the face of a pharaoh who founded the Valley of the Kings and rewrote history in ancient Egypt.

Amenhotep I - the second ruler of Egypt's 18th Dynasty - is thought to have died 3,500 years ago at around age 35 before being painstakingly preserved through mummification.

He was the first to be buried in the Valley of the Kings - the resting site of almost all the Pharaohs of the 18th, 19th and 20th dynasties.

I think they have reconstructed the face of at least one murder victim where the people that knew her recognized her.

yeah farming started in anatolia. its well documented by genetics and artifacts that they came to europe about 7-8 thousand years ago.

no reason these farmers would not have also moved south. and formed the basis for the civilization in egypt.

They did. The people from Anatolia certainly spread far. It’s been known for a long time that the ancient Egyptians were from west Asia. They are doing fine work in pin pointing who exactly they were.

In 1980, Gatliff was asked to reconstruct likenesses of nine of the 33 known victims of serial killer John Wayne Gacy. None resulted in identifications; investigators were only recently able to identify two of the victims using DNA.

it happened once for her... but not very likely.

Unfortunately it is generally the opinion that the Sphinx is at least 1000 years older than the 18th Dynasty, more likely around the time of the 4th Dynasty or earlier. Thus around 4,500 years ago. See various opinions at this Google page:

My bad, somehow I had the impression they were talking about reconstructing the face of the Sphinx, but they were reconstructing Amenhotep’s face from his mummy xrays. Nevertheless if Egypt interests you, you will find interesting information at my link.
