Bullets rather than hugs south of the border

Mexican President Andrés Lopez-Obrador will leave the presidency on October 1st. He will be replaced by Claudia Sheinbaum, the first woman to hold the job and someone who may regret that she got the job in the first place.

Down south, violence is exploding. To be fair, AMLO's policy of "hugs rather than bullets" was a nice talking point, but the people with bullets did not get the memo. Let's check out what Allan Wall is writing about the war underway in Sinaloa:

Elements of the military and National Guard, comprising 2,200 troops, have been sent to Sinaloa. Two of the dead were military personnel.

President AMLO said their mission is to protect the population and stop clashes between the factions. As they say, “good luck with that”.

The regional army commander on the other hand said the situation won’t calm down unless the cartel factions stop fighting each other.

So why not send in many more troops with a mission to end the fighting? Well, according to President-Elect Claudia Sheinbaum, “In the moment of confrontation, to enter with firepower would start a war…”

Excuse me, but isn’t there a war in Sinaloa already?

Correct. There is a war going on and people are getting shot. The conflict is between two cartels that are fighting over territory.

What makes this conflict different from others? Well, I hear more and more from Mexican friends that AMLO's policy of denying the crisis will soon explode into a big "problema."

IMHO the only problem with the Punitive Expedition is that we defined success as being only with the capture or kill of Pancho Villa. If we had defined it as: killing however many people it took to make sure folks south of the border never attacked us again for the rest of their lives … then it was a huge success.

Mexico is an enemy of America. The Democrats have loaded the Muzzie wars in the Middle East onto the backs of Americans. The crap wars from below the border will be joining the Mexican drug and human traffic industries with their assault on America. I would fully expect that the demonrats will align with the cartel factions.. I think that’s where our next “civil war”, if you can call it that, is going to start.

Maybe it’s going to be against the cartels of Mexico, South America and the the rats of the USA. All funded by China, Russia and the muslims of the world..

Lots of arms and ammo for the whole bunch......maybe. (?)

Obama’s army is already here, all that’s needed is for SOMEONE to standup and get in their way.

Maybe that’s where Trump comes in.....

I don’t get how all the Mexicans illegally sneak into America and whine for asylum from having to live in Mexico while Americans spend millions every year to go there to party. Weird stuff.

I feel the same way about Chicago and some other US cities.

Merida Mexico in the Yucatan peninsula is the second safest city in all North America, so crime mileage may vary according to location. That said, I don't live in Chicago or Baltimore or Mexico.

My personal opinion is that taking elderly El Mayo by our DOJ wanting positive headlines for the election destabilized Sinaloa and the whole apple cart

“Relatively” speaking Zambada kept what fragile peace there has been since Chapo was given up

It’s not going away and they won’t do the wall or stop fentanyl

So in my opinion a strong top helps Mexico keep their own body count down
