I have always been Rubbermaid fan. But those products are harder to find (Target carries them, but I don’t patonize Target). Starlite and store brands now dominate the big box store space. A lot of the Sterlite stuff is made in the U.S., but it is cheap and brittle. Hefty lends its name to another manufacturer for a range of storage bins. Its small sealable bins are adequate.

According to Perplexity.ai:

Rubbermaid products are manufactured both in the United States and abroad. Approximately 80% of Rubbermaid products are made in the USA, particularly items such as garbage cans, mop buckets, mop heads, mop handles, and storage sheds.

The company has a manufacturing facility located in Mogadore, Ohio, where various household storage containers are produced. However, some products, especially certain food storage containers, are made overseas, including in countries like China.

I attempted to avoid buying anything made in china one time.....it was pretty much impossible.

Also, a little off topic but I have a warning for anyone who shops at Trader Joe’s or Aldi, check the country of origin before purchasing seafood.....Much of it is a chinese product.....probably goes for Walmart as well.

I think the problem is that its competitors were cheaper and consumers went for the lower price.

I think the Tupperware were better but hey
