I make my living on carbon fiber aircraft parts. Going on twenty years now. That design was crap. Carbon fiber has fantastic ‘pull’ (tensile) strength. 180ksi. Compression.... imagine pushing a rope.

BUT the best thing about these idiots no middle age white male engineers worked on the project. Who wants some boring old 50 year old white male engineer designing a pressure (compressions) vessel when you can be cool and hip?
