So many good folks here may never understand...

...childish insults drive potential voters away, in this case, in droves.

DJT needs every single vote, every one possible.

Acting presidential, wise, conciliatory, and likeable are needed beyond need.

If (I'm afraid when) Trump loses, it's on him and his odd need to drive possible allies away.

I wish it were different.

Trump won twice.
Got more votes the second time.
He didn’t drive people away, he grew his vote total.

Because he proved he wasn’t like other Swamp R team members past and present.

Trump has had to campaign for 4 years because of a stolen election, motivating his voters not to start killing the thieves and conspirators who stole the election, but sticking through him dodging lawfare, bullets and two presidential candidates...

Keeping the nation from killing each other is one job Trump has had for 4 years.
A nation that declared war on him in 2015 when he announced his run.

Many good people here may never understand that..

Your mileage will vary

If I expected everyone to express themselves wisely, or in a conciliatory and likable manner, I wouldn’t be on Free Republic.

There are some people here who are downright crude, and a lot who are blatantly racist, and their main drive is to show off on social media. I disregard those.

But there are plenty of people here whose language may be rough, uncultured and sometimes a little smartass - . but if they are also intelligent and make sense, I disregard the rough edges.

There have been some things, over the years, that I think Trump shouldn’t have said; but I think lots of voters disregard Trump’s ‘rough edges’. They hear what he says about their lives, the problems in this country, and what we’re all going through.

If Trump tries to change his nature just to get votes, he’ll just be another politician. We’re tired of those; and frankly, I don’t know of anything Trump has said that reaches the dangerous level of Democrat rhetoric against him. THEY are to blame for two attempts at Trump’s life.
