Butker hits a 51-yard winner for KC after penalty on Bengals safety keeps Chiefs alive

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- — Harrison Butker kicked a 51-yard field goal as time expired and the Kansas City Chiefs, kept alive by a pass interference call on Bengals safety Daijahn Anthony on fourth down in the final minute, rallied to beat Cincinnati 26-25 on Sunday.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 151 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions, but it was his incomplete pass to Rashee Rice on fourth-and-16 from the Kansas City 35 that turned out to be decisive. Anthony arrived a split-second early and hit Rice from behind with his body, and flags flew with 38 seconds remaining as the crowd in Arrowhead Stadium erupted.

The penalty came just after the Chiefs had a long gain on fourth down wiped out by a penalty of their own.

The pass interference call moved the Chiefs to the Cincinnati 36, and the Chiefs ran a couple of plays to bleed the clock for the big-legged Butker, who turned around and started walking off the field even before his kick went through the uprights.

Joe Burrow threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns, both to Andrei Iosivas, as the Bengals (0-2) came up empty against one of their biggest nemeses for the third straight time. That includes a loss to Kansas City in the AFC championship game.

Butker haters in mourning, as he nailed it from 51 yards, right down the middle probably would have been good from 60. Meanwhile, Travis Kelce one catch for 5 yards. Chiefs are needing another option for Mahomes(QBR 30, rating 80 vs, Burrow QBR 66, rating 103) as it looks like the high life has taken its toll on Kelce. maybe time for Taylor to move on ?

Very questionable interference call to bail out the chiefs.

As a Steelers fan, I think it was a good call.

The defender clearly made early contact, don’t see this as questionable.

all over his back and didn’t let him extend his arms for the catch attempt.

There have been a lot of very questionable calls. I remember when the NFL had by far the best refs.

These are the best refs money can buy!

If so, she’ll put out another song about a failed romance.

I don’t know if they are “bought,” just Goodell gives his orders. Why is Rashee Rice not suspended, and other players have been suspended for less?

Burrows looked like someone shot his dog. Cincy's D keeps other teams in the game at the end, and it's not the D coordinator's fault, it's the culture of The Bungle's Who Dey.

Cincy ranked last among NFL teams in net worth at $3B. And there they will stay.

In the Super Bowl between Seattle and New England, there was a near exact copy, where Malcolm Butler blew up a Seattle receiver before the ball got there, and was call an interception, and GAME OVER.

Maholmes can have one of his worse games and the refs simply refuse to let him lose a close game. If the score is tied and the chiefs get the ball last you can bet your bottom dollar refs will try their best to help them get the win. It’s been going on since Mahomes arrived. Any team that wants to beat them better have a four TD lead at the two-minute warning or Chiefs 99% of the time are winning the game.

Maybe Haitians ate his dog and it threw his game off.

Half the calls they missed today or controversial. The referees must be employed by Biden because they have blinders on.

Watching multiple games I gotta say, all the penalties make the games almost watchable. I want to watch football, not ref-ball.
