Newt handled that pretty well. We cannot and should not expect that level of answer at all times. That said, all Republicans should see it coming and be ready for it. None of this is new.

Newt gave a detailed shutdown to the question and dug in to maintain the shutdown in a detailed manner through the persistence of the media person.

Newt was educating the audience while killing the question, something we used to see from Reagan on even shows like the Tonight Show when he would not just answer well, charm, and amuse the audience but also educate and inform the audience with the answer.
