Rock icon Linda Ronstadt has maintained a low public profile since her diagnosis with a Parkinson’s-like degenerative disease more than 10 years ago, but she’s raising her voice once again to condemn Donald Trump and the “hate show” rally he intends to bring to the Tucson music venue named in the “You’re No Good” singer’s honor.
The Trump rally is set for this afternoon in what the Republican candidate’s website calls The Tucson Music Hall. Only it hasn’t been called that since 2022, when the venue was officially renamed the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall.
"Donald Trump is holding a rally on Thursday in a rented hall in my hometown, Tucson,” Ronstadt writes in a new Instagram post (see it below). “I would prefer to ignore that sad fact. But since the building has my name on it, I need to say something. It saddens me to see the former President bring his hate show to Tucson, a town with deep Mexican-American roots and a joyful, tolerant spirit."

Trump is not afraid to walk into the Lion’s Den - he knows when he debates he’s going to have to debate the moderators as well and entire very hostile territory - and he goes anyway
Remember that Rally he had in the Bronx? I was in New York City at the time and people were fired up (in a good way) that he was coming.
He does well in hostile territory - unlike Kamala Harris who refused to debate Trump on Fox.

I loved her voice growing up and I’m sorry she’s got the Parkinson’s-like condition, but she really has gone off the rails.

People in the music industry should shut up and sing! Their political opinions are almost always Leftist, after they make their personal fortunes in a capitalist economy.
I get it that they spend their entire working life in a business filled with corruption, exploitation, vicious totalitarian managers, and personal traumas. It is going to leave a mark. They are going to want revenge on the people and the systems that hurt them. It is no wonder they turn so commonly to Leftist ideals.
How unfortunate for them.
I don't care to listen to the advice of entertainers about politics. What they usually want is harmful to me and mine.

She, the Eagles, Jackson Browne and Dan Fogelberg (not in that order) did a benefit concert for Jerry Brown in DC when he ran for president in 1976.
I went to high school in the DC area and my friends and I went to the concert - for the bands, not for Governor Moonbeam.
At one point, Linda told the audience she was not there to tell us who to vote for, but just please vote. She was very reasonable and down to earth.
I think she started coming unhinged around the late 90s/early 00s.
