He was clearly speeding.
He complied with all the requests. If the cop wanted the window rolled all the way down, he should have said so.
A simple step out of the vehicle would have been fine rather than a tag team takedown.
They knew this wasn’t some gangbanger but a professional athlete.
These cops shouldn’t have jobs tomorrow.
Hill doesn’t help himself by constantly running his mouth but he didn’t do anything wrong.....other than the speeding and reckless driving.
Did you watch the video? The cops approached and he kept the tinted window up, causing them to knock repeatedly. When he finally handed them his license, he shut the window again, reaggravating the incident with his wise ass attitude. It went downhill from there. This is all on him.
“They knew this wasn’t some gangbanger but a professional athlete.”
Yeah, punched his pregnant girlfriend in the face and threw her around like a ragdoll. The hit with two other paternity suits, and one assault suit over a broken leg, broke his three year old son’s arm, then assaulted a worker at a marina in Miami.
He’s a POS, not some respectable “professional” athlete.
How did they know he was a professional athlete? He didn’t identify himself as such as far as I heard and it wouldn’t be on his DL. One thing for sure, macho Cubano cops don’t play and they don’t like to be talked down to.
To wit: “One cop, who appeared to be looking at Hill’s ID, asked his colleague about the receiver’s behavior... .“Why is he acting up like that?” one officer asked, as Hill could be heard yelling in the background. “You know who that is right?”..The other cop replied, “No?”..“That’s one of the Dolphins’ star players,” the officer said while pointing in Hill’s direction. “Oh yeah? F–k,” the other cop said.”

“Tyreek Hill had his window up, the officer knocks on his window, he didn’t bang on his window he knocked on his window, you hesitated to pull it down, the first thing you say is, ‘Don’t bang on my window like that.’… he asks you for your driver’s license, you hesitated to give him your driver’s license...

I watched that video too. I guess we didn’t see the same one. He should’ve gone straight to jail and he been held for arraignment and giving no special privilege just whatsoever he was doing 103 in a 55 zone. He thought he was an entitled individual. He rolled the window back up, I believe, and didn’t want to get out of the car. I don’t care if he was professional athlete I’d give him special privileges the rest of us. I don’t think so.
The cop told him several times to keep his window rolled down. He was ignored by Hill.
The cop told him to keep the tinted window down, and he refused to put his window down. He refused a lawful order. Once that happens, and the cop has a right to lay hands on you, you have entered a gray area where anything can be seen as lawful, as everyone in the fight can argue they were in fear of their lives.
Also, you can go through life insisting you have a right to not be polite, and to treat other people like servants, but sooner or later you will run into people who will then insist you abide by all the rights they have, to slow you down and investigate you.
If people are naturally impolite enough that the behavior on that tape seems reasonable to them, and he doesn’t come off as an ass, and the whole decision to not let the cop see in his vehicle during the stop and roll his window down is lawful, they had better never speed and run into a cop.
There are just realities which come into play once you decide you do not need to be polite to others. He ran into them.
