"Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary isn't known to mince words, and his take on workers splurging on their daily cups of coffee and work lunches was no exception.
"Stop buying coffee for $5.50. You got to work and spend $15 on a sandwich – what are you, an idiot?" O'Leary, also known as Mr. Wonderful, said in a financial advice clip shared on Instagram last week.

“Many don’t know how to make acceptable coffee, just like they can’t find places on the map.”
Buy a Keurig. Then buy a Keurig coffee cup. Then buy a pound of coffee from your local store, ground the coffee. That costs about eight bucks. Now you have around 40 k cups of coffee for eight bucks. The savings pay for the Keurig coffee maker in a month or so.
Are you sure about those measurements?
This is from Brown’s site.
36 fluid ounces filtered water
12 tablespoons freshly ground coffee

“Alton Brown, who popularized this trick in the US in a Food Network segment from 2009, suggested adding a ¼ tsp. salt to 12 Tbsp. freshly ground coffee (to yield a 6-cup pot of joe). If your pot is a little larger, that’s okay—like salting anything, we recommend starting small and increasing to taste.”

Cause pork bellies have gone thru the roof!
Relatively mild addiction to caffeine and the surrounding social cues. Notice mild withdrawal symptoms.
No other way to explain long lines of cars at local drive thru coffee establishment before rush hour.Plenty of things taste better. Plenty of things less expensive. Plenty of things more conveniently, and quickly accessed.
Spanish Fort, Alabama, about five years ago. Got met at the window by a he/she. Never went back.
Was at a gas station several weeks back.
Wasn’t really paying attention but about a 6’2” woman comes in
As I go back to get something else we kinda cross paths so I apologize saying pardon me or some such
Then I heard a voice that I didn’t expect....🤯😲
Yesterday I got charged $6.00 for a cup of black coffee. It was at a trade show. Captive audience. It was also on expense account.
I spend company money like it’s my own. My colleagues and I worked out a plan to include a coffee pot at our next show.
People smirk at me because I drink freeze-dried coffee. I grew up in the UK, it’s what people did. It costs MAYBE 10c per cup (big jar of Tasters Choice from CostCo). I just want water, caffeine, and some taste...I don’t notice it isn’t the greatest coffee, I just don’t find SB or ‘real coffee’ to taste that much better.
"This is some serious gourmet s___! Usually, me and Vince would be happy with some freeze-dried Taster's Choice right, but he springs this serious GOURMET s___ on us!"
I couldn’t agree more, that is just stupid.
(My Keurig pods that cost about 30-50 cents are fine for me)
Not bad!
I enjoy a Dunkin plain coffee with extra cream and sugar sometimes
“””Stop buying coffee for $5.50.”””
For $5.50 I get to drink about 100 cups of coffee.
If you buy Starbucks coffee you are better than the little people. I won’t waste my money on burnt coffee.
lol - never watched the whole thing....but didn’t realize I was such a gansta!
He’s right but he also pimped the FTX scam.
As did Tommy Boy Brady and Baby Face Steph Curry.
Curry pimped FTX and now he’s pimping Komrade Kammy and Tampon Timmy.
I’m not exactly an Aaron Rodgers fan, but I give him credit he ain’t pimping either.
And he didn’t take the clot shot either or pimp like Swifty Travis Pfizer.
Just as an aside, I listened to Brady doing the Cowboys-Browns, game, and he was terrible. Not a good broadcaster voice at all.
I don’t buy it except on very rare occasion.
Last two packs I bought were for a church tent meeting for a traveling evangelist.
That way visitors could have their own individual bottles.
It was like 12 cents a bottle but it made it easy for his gathering. I spent more on gas for the round trip but I wanted to help out.
I ran across them on the way to work a couple of years ago as I stopped at the hamburger 🍔 joint.
That low wage workers do not have a better wage and a good retirement plan AND a privatized Social Security system and low inflation and lower taxes are bigger problems.
Putting the money back into the private economy via Starbucks is good. Starbucks employs the people there, and that is good. Starbucks stock is OK, which is good.
Getting caffeine into people who work is good, better than weed or alcohol or meth.
What we need is a way to grow coffee domestically in greenhouses or whatever. For the sake of national security and lower prices and jobs.
But if you have a sustaining private enterprise company (SBUX) that everyone can participate in by buying stock, or coffee, that is good.
Bring us more of the same.
Mr. Wonderful is just a miserable wretch who makes Scrooge look like Santa Claus himself. I would much rather spend the afternoon with a 'coffee drinking idiot' than with him any day.
