People should not even be questioning this.

NEVER click on email links. Go to your Walgreens online account and sign on there. If you have rewards they will be there. If you don’t have an online account, you can’t and won’t have any rewards monies.

Well, I DID indicate this is likely a scam, and still think that, but the puzzlement is the lack of info online about it. Usually there is “a ton” about anything that’s been out there more than ~15 minutes...

You're not alone in that. My company has gotten so good at it that I carefully scrutinize emails from vendors that I expect ... the network security guys are sneaky bastards.

Any time you get an email that claims it needs you to click something quickly or you’re going to lose it is always a scam. These lowlifes prey on human nature.

It depends on how your email provider is set up, but there should be a link to click on to find the sender’s real email address. I’ve seen emails like the one you mentioned. Their own email address is usually a random jumble of letters. Sure sign of a scam.

And as Cletus noted, beware of a close misspelling. For example, a Microsoft scammer might be at micrisoft.com. Easy to miss if you’re not looking for it.

It turns out I got a similar message a few days prior, with the same deadline (9/9/24). I don’t use that e-mail account much because it is, in fact, the one I give when I expect to get a lot of spam, ordering from some “new to me” online seller, etc.
