(If this has already been posted, I apologize. I DID search).
Amazing story of survival. Can they use a more lethal caliber against the bear?
if only they had had some bear spray
.45 ACP is wholly inadequate for the job.
12 gauge, with .44 magnum back-up was needed.
This may be the best video interview of a bear attack/defense case I have seen.
taIk about the worst time for that to happen
And California wants to add some grizzleys to the state and they don’t care what the outcome is.
Ping.
Both young men are 20 years old, as I recall.
Riley and Brax, what a pair
“King Charles XII of Sweden (born 1682) ... killed his first bear at eleven.”. Later, “having decided that it was cowardly to hunt with firearms, he took only a pike and a cutlass when he went in search of bears.
After a while, he decided that even the use of steel was unfair, and he went with only a strong wooden pitchfork. ... (to) catch it in the throat with the fork ...” ( further at “Peter the Great” by great American historian Robert K. Massie)

Given my experience with Taurus I wouldn’t carry one for protection in a petting zoo.
My current crop of semi autos are amonst all SIGs.
Great survival story. Thanks for posting 👍
I ‘ve had two such over the years. One passed and the other (a FReeper) moved three states east.
*If you have ever associated with a person who has described an event was surreal, know that you can never depend upon that person to react in an emergency.
Pinging Dean ...
because I’m surprised nobody else did.
Joe Rogan will be on this
It was my first day working for The US Forest Service and we were all walking to our pickups to go to work.
I noticed a guy with a revolver on his hip.
I asked my work partner if that guy thought he was Jesse James.
My work partner told me to shut up.
He then explained that the guy had been on a four man crew that got between a Grizzly sow and her cubs.
When it was all over, this guy was the only one of the four who could still walk for help.
He said the guy carries that .357 Magnum now.
I said I didn’t know if that was enough revolver to stop a Grizzly.
My work partner said the guy intended to put the revolver in the bear’s mouth and fire.
I just shook my head.
