Apparently, the mistake wasn't even noticed until the autopsy, where the examiner found the deceased was missing his liver, but still had a spleen.

After the procedure, Shaknovsky told Beverly Bryan, a nurse, the “spleen” was so diseased that it was four times bigger than usual and had “migrated” to the other side of Bill Bryan’s body.

In a previous wrong-site surgery in 2023, Zarzaur said Shaknovsky mistakenly removed a portion of a patient’s pancreas instead of performing the intended adrenal gland resection (cutting out tissue or part of an organ) at the same hospital.

Imagine if the Coroner's report had instead read:

"The decedent's body had mysteriously transformed into a large pot roast, with all the trimmings, and migrated into my refrigerator. But I proceeded with autopsy, and found no evidence of wrong-doing on the part of the surgeon. Also: It was delish!"

Then it should have been removed in a regular surgery, NOT a laparoscopic procedure.
