My blockage in my coronary arteries must have gotten better from daily exercise. Before I used to get chest pains after eating a good meal. Now I can eat like a glutton and not even a hint of chest pain. I have read articles saying exercise will create new coronary arteries to bypass clogged arteries.
The most important benefit of daily exercise is I have not lost any muscular strength, my skeletal structure is ram rod straight and have enough energy to mow lawn with a push mower in 90-degree weather with high humidity in Florida. I don’t think any prescriptions would give me such amazing energy and strength at age 84.
But each individual has to choose what their brain tells them. Another bonus of exercise is there are no side effects. Statins were giving me muscle aches which is listed as a side effect of statins. Lisinopril was making me get up to pee during the night.
Good that you’re doing well. My older brother at 85 still swims laps; genetics had a lot to do with it. I do the push mower too but do stop in the shade to rest sometimes.
