As one of the later Boomers (1958) I got to see the earliest as they hit college and even as young as I was I thought of them as nasty disingenuous hypocrites.
You and I are exact same year. I taught college for a while and thought when we elected Reagan a couple of times, we had come of age and would be all right.
But it was really Clinton that represented the boomers. And one day I was lecturing my class and made a remark, “Your parents should be the ones to tell you how it was back then.” It was something about “sex, drugs, and rock and roll.”
And they gave me these blank stares with one girl saying, “Our parents didn’t do that.” I knew her parents. I went to high school with them. I remember them bumping in the back row of the drive-in. It was my turn to blank stare.
