And they were definitely supersonic, as witnessed by Mom. And probably a whole lot of other people across northern Ohio and into Western PA. Yeah, at the top speed, well, Ohio is about 200 miles across from Toledo to the PA border. Dang, that's moving.
I saw the blue angels at the Cleveland air show over Labor Day weekend - one of them made a high speed pass, at just a hair under supersonic, so close to 600 mph. I mean, it roared past. A photographer a little to our east, captured the vapor cone perfectly. It went by me so fast that by the time I had the camera up to my eye, it was well past. Very impressive machinery!
