Massive ocean discovered beneath the Earth's crust containing more water than on the surface

Scientists previously discovered that water is stored inside mantle rock in a sponge-like state, which isn’t a liquid, solid or a gas, but instead a fourth state.

The scientific paper titled ‘Dehydration melting at the top of the lower mantle’ was published in 2014 and laid out the findings.

"The ringwoodite is like a sponge, soaking up water, there is something very special about the crystal structure of ringwoodite that allows it to attract hydrogen and trap water," said geophysicist Steve Jacobsen at the time.

"This mineral can contain a lot of water under conditions of the deep mantle,” added Jacobsen, who was part of the team behind the discovery.

He added: "I think we are finally seeing evidence for a whole-Earth water cycle, which may help explain the vast amount of liquid water on the surface of our habitable planet. Scientists have been looking for this missing deep water for decades."

Scientists made the findings at the time after studying earthquakes and discovering that seismometers were picking up shockwaves under the surface of the Earth.

From that, they were able to establish that the water was being held in the rock known as ringwoodite.

If the rock contained just 1 per cent water, it would mean that there is three times more water under the surface of the Earth than there is in the oceans on the surface.

Read about supercritical fluids and how water behaves when it’s supercritical.

“Don’t you know we are raising the temperature of the earth a degree over the next so many decades?”

There is a reason thinking people think people that make those assertions are stupid.
Humanity cannot even stop a local thunderstorm, but you believe we can warm an entire planet?
Why have ocean temperatures recently dropped dramatically?
Was it your Green Technology that mostly only Americans have to suffer with?
Other than local pollution, mankind are an insignificant
impact on the Earth’s oceans and land.
Like petulant children, we don’t know anything.
Sure we can kill most all of us off, but the earth will
go on regardless.

It’s a real cliffhanger.

I never really got over Gertrude, though.

Could she code, or what?

Um, no. This doesn’t prove the global flood myth.

Humans have known about ground water for over 10,000 years.

The article is about a 2014 paper and appears to be written by AI.

“The wells yield an average of 400 gallons of water per minute (gpm), with a peak output of 4,500 gpm.”

I sure could use one of those for the shower. 🫠

Scientists discovered this using scientific methods. They are just confirming what the Bible said thousands of years ago. But the true scientists do not have an agenda, so they have no egg on their faces. The grant whores, however, are a different matter. But both science and faith have taken a leap forward with this discovery.

Now give Elon Musk a few million gallons to transport first to the moon and then to mars. You can siphon it out of the gravity well and into space, where it will be weightless ice, and then tow it to the heavenly body of your choice and shout, “Look out below!”.

Genesis 7:11, proverbs 8:22-31, 2nd Peter 3:5...many other verses in the Bible about “springs of water”

Odd that supposedly there was lots of surface water on Mars and lots of evidence of global floods, yer there is more surface water on earth...and supposedly all of our land features couldn’t be possibly associated with a global flood

Scientists have known for decades that a larger quantity of water resides within the crust than exists in all the oceans combined.

“In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.”

“But the true scientists do not have an agenda, so they have no egg on their faces. “

Exactly. I am a scientist, by trade and training. I am also a man of God. In no way do the two conflict. The more we discover about ourselves and our universe the more I am convinced of the presence of a higher power that created all this. We are mere children in this universe, exploring what we do not know, observing to understand. I am fine with being wrong about my theories, wrong about my observations, but right about the entire scientific process being worth it.

Interesting story that I had not heard before, but I believe that in the story of Noah’s Ark there was a release of the waters of the deep as it flooded the whole earth.
