A waste of time when useful things should have been taught. That’s true wherever this stuff it taught. Worse than that, it is psychological abuse. I remember reading about Stalinist show trials in which the accused were completely innocent, but were so pressured and pressured by prosecution that they felt complete relief when they finally broke and confessed to their “guilt”.
