Supreme Court Approves Arizona Law Requiring Proof of Citizenship to Vote

In a major victory for election integrity efforts, the Supreme Court of the United States approved key portions of an Arizona law that requires proof of citizenship in order to cast a vote in the upcoming election.

As reported by Breitbart, the law in question had been passed in 2022, while Republicans still had control of the state legislature and the governorship. Passed in response to widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election, the law also requires newly-registered voters to provide proof of their address.

The law faced pushback from Democrats and other far-left activists, who repeatedly sued to have the law blocked from enforcement. After a back-and-forth process during which the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals initially approved the law, then reversed its own ruling and blocked the law again, the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision on Thursday that the key component of the law must be enforced.

When the law was first passed, it was estimated that the proof of citizenship requirement could result in as many as 200,000 illegal aliens no longer being able to vote. This could prove decisive in the Grand Canyon State, which apparently voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election by less than 11,000 votes.

Many statewide elections in 2022 were equally as contentious, with the gubernatorial race being decided by roughly 17,000 votes, the Secretary of State race being determined by just over 20,000 votes, and the Attorney General race being won by less than 300 votes; all of these elections were won by Democrats, thus sparking further accusations of voter fraud.

Arizona remains one of the most critical swing states in the coming election, worth 11 electoral votes. Polling suggests that the race between former President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris is a tossup. The state will also be holding a crucial election for the United States Senate, with 2022 gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake (R-Ariz.) facing off against Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.); polling in that race suggests that Gallego is the favorite to win.

They also need to go after voter registrations using invalid addresses. Almost all of these are likely fake registrations used in vote fraud operations.

I think this just turned Arizona solid red, except for a few neighbourhoods in the major cities.

5-4 is way too close to take a lot of comfort... but good for now.

From the Scotus Blog: (https://www.scotusblog.com/2024/08/justices-allow-arizona-to-enforce-proof-of-citizenship-law-for-2024-voter-registration/):

“The vote was 5-4. In a brief unsigned order, three of the court’s conservative justices – Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch – indicated that they would have granted the RNC’s application to fully reinstate the law.

“Four other justices – Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, Amy Coney Barrett, and Ketanji Brown Jackson – indicated that they would have denied the RNC’s request in its entirety, keeping in place a ruling by a federal district court in Arizona blocking the state from enforcing the law.

“Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh did not publicly signal how they voted, but they must have provided the two remaining votes necessary to revive the portion of the law dealing with the state form.

As has been pointed out repeatedly, Barrett has - on balance - shown herself to have been a very poor pick. And Kavanaugh can blow with the wind, like Roberts.

Now Arizona needs to pass a law that requires proof that the citizen is alive in order to cast a vote in the upcoming election.

If only living US citizens can vote, and each citizen can vote only once, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide, and the Democrat Party, i.e. the Party of Hate and Evil, will slither into the garbage dump of history where it belongs.

It’s kind of sad that it takes our SC to decide this.

You said it! That’s not a comforting margin at all. What’s going on with these semi-Americans?

Let’s see. Motor Voter laws allow anyone to sign up to vote with no questions asked. Now the SCOTUS comes in and clarifies the restrictions and the left is going to go along.

Sounds like the Biden reaction to the student loan payback ruling.

5-4 court vote. We teeter on the edge where the leftists, if they can get a small shift in the court, will push us over the cliff.

“5-4 court vote. We teeter on the edge where the leftists, if they can get a small shift in the court, will push us over the cliff.”

Agreed. No more Amy Coney Barretts and Kavanaughs. Instead, we need more Alitos and Thomases.

for an extra 10 points: name any court ruling that democrats disagreed with that they obeyed. SCOTUS told Biden that the student loan vote buying bribe was illegal. He did it anyway.

I hear ya. Just imagine what would happen if Trump disobeyed a SCOTUS ruling.

Thank you for referencing that article MtnClimber.

"Supreme Court Approves Arizona Law Requiring Proof of Citizenship to Vote"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

We may be getting sanitized info on this Arizona proof of citizenship to vote issue.

Regarding proof of citizenship to vote, Democratic and Republican Trump supporters are reminded that the congressional record shows that post-Civil War lawmakers had expressed concern that states that allow non-citizens to vote effectively wrongly nullify the Constitution's "Uniform Rule of Naturalization Clause."

Note that Section 2 of the 14th Amendment (14A), that amendment ratified shortly after the excerpts above appeared in the congressional record, is a penalty for states where ballot box fraud has occurred.

Note the zero tolerance "hair trigger" wording in that section that should be a warning for any state thinking about rigging an election, letting non-citizens vote just one example of doing so, Pence and the J6 Congress also wrongly ignoring that section imo despite allegations of vote-counting fraud in 2020 elections.

Excerpted from 14A:

In fact, desperate elite Democrats who recently unilaterally threw out millions of primary votes for OBiden after his bad interview with Trump, effectively giving OBiden's votes to presidentially unqualified (imo) Harris, need to be held responsible for violating Section 2 imo.

With Section 2 in mind, consider that if this were a better world, the feds would be reminding all states before an election that the feds will be darkening the doorway of any state to investigate allegations of possible violations of constitutional voting integrity protections, also the Uniform Rule of Naturalization Clause.

The constitutionally reality is that, since worthless career federal lawmakers and renegade states have repeatedly proven that they are enemies of the people imo, it is now up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to effectively "impeach and remove" ALL (exceptions?) state and federal lawmakers and executives in November.

In other words, it's now up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to support hopeful Trump 47 with a new, Constitution-respecting Congress, new state lawmakers too, not only so that he will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term, but will support him to quickly finish draining the swamp.

Finally, let's not allow the anti-Trump media try to fade our memories of what we witnessed on July 13.

They need to delete the voter rolls now, and make re registration, contingent on proof of birth. Drivers licensing up to a certain year to apply for one, required a BC. As did joining the military, a passport and more. Dig up your BC, prove you are a citizen, you get to vote on Election DAY.
