In my area her time slot/show replaced a show called "Mr Cartoon" with a guy who also worked on WSAZ's staff named Jule Huffman. Mr. Cartoon had a helper named "Beeper" who's costume was one of the original from the Banana Splits. Mr. Cartoon would say that Beeper loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches so when kids came on as guest of the show they would bring one to Beeper that their Mom's made. I'd see him sometimes holding as many as 4 or 5 at the beginning of the show and often wonder what he did with them at the end of the show.
