"Eleven totes held 33,000 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. The other 15 totes contained 59,900 rounds of .223 caliber rifle ammunition for a total of 92,900 rounds of ammo, authorities stated.
So, Not 'large' caliber, or 'high caliber' it is Small caliber and Medium caliber.
Be nice if the Border patrol and the United Press and other media organizations would hire someone who knows a little about such things to write their reports.
Based on those quantities of those rounds, the whole thing works out to around 2,140 pounds, or a bit less than a metric ton. A decent pallet load.
I divided when I should have multiplied in converting the 7.62 X 39 kilograms to pounds. The actual total weight of the ammunition was about 3,600 pounds, call it two pallets.
Sorry about that. Should have double-checked before posting. Good night, all.
sheet....that’s a weekend buy for me.
