Generally I agree, but the biggest factor is genetics.

Longevity distills down to three factors, only one of which you can control (although science is working on the second):

-- Environment: What you eat; where you live; how you live, etc., over which you have some, even considerable, control
-- Genetics: Little if any control at all (at this time)
-- Luck (for lack of a better term): Hard to accept by some, but it's real.

My 3 uncles, father, all died from heart attacks from age 60-70. I am now 84; and have not had any heart issues since my mid 50’s. Only change I made was switch from no exercise to walking 30 miles werkly on a hilly course playing 5 rounds of 18. Today, I can mow my suburban size lawn with a push mower during summer weather in Florida.

Daily exercise has been most beneficial to me. I will add that my diet includes lots of fruits & veggies and less red meat.
