Chauvin is the textbook example of lynch-mob justice.

And all those involved, including Walz, knew this but went along or even promoted this for their own political benefit.

https://mn.gov/governor/newsroom/press-releases/?id=1055-477138

This is how the MSM is spinning it today: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/aug/08/tim-walz-george-floyd-killing-minneapolis-police It is in reality a disgusting distortion of justice, a failure in true leadership.

These are facts:

(1) Floyd was a violent criminal with 23 prior convictions.
(2) He was resisting arrest.
(3) He was using counterfeit money and had the police called on him by the store clerk.
(4) He was a big and powerful man, able to resist physically.
(5) He was on drugs.
(6) The police officer used a technique that while ugly, was authorized by the PD at the time.
(7) It is unclear as to the true cause of Floyd’s death because he had a pre-existing heart condition and was on drugs.

For that, a court sentenced Chauvin (no priors) to 21 years in prison. That is ridiculous.

I do believe the actions of Chauvin to be negligent, in that he had no concern for Floyd’s safety. IMHO, dismissal is appropriate, as is a record for involuntary manslaughter with a minimal prison sentence (6 months - 2 years, parole eligible). Part of the reason for the minimal sentence is that I would put him in isolation the entire time, for his own safety.

In the meantime he has been attacked several times while in prison, once stabbed 22 times and miraculously survived.

***People like Walz should be getting crushed by the media for their handling of this situation, not heralded as some racial and social justice warrior.***

But the MSM favors the Democrats, and every failure is made into a success story by our MSM.

I am by far not someone cheerleading the militarization of our police, the use of intel, the gross Constitutional violations (in due process and privacy)... I believe there are some serious issues with law enforcement in this country especially on the federal side, albeit they are not racially motivated systemically. The local PDs and especially the Sheriffs offices have their hands full and are less involved in these games. The problems this nation faces with law enforcement and our IC are that today they are aimed inward, overstep their Constitutional boundaries, are politically partisan, and used in what amount to political games as was the case with J6, the Trump tower wire taps, going after political allies, business partners, family member and personal friends of Trump, example: Gen. Flynn, Paul Manafort...

But the Cauvin case is obvious! This is a case where you had a bunch of politicians wringing their hands and sacrificing this cop on the racial/social justice altar. Nasty. That is no sign of character. True leaders have courage and they lead even if it is in a direction contrary to where the wind is blowing from at that moment. Walz proved himself an unprincipled scumbag on this issue.
