Since many people on here where questioning why Trump would goto Montana. Seems he knew what he was doing as a Republican win here all but guarantees a senate majority. This poll was completely taken post visit.

Tester was lucky enough to run in off years. ‘06-peple tired of W. 2012-follow Mittens into battle? 20180 off year. You would think he would have had a little Joe Mancin in him.

Joe Manchin is a better politican. Tester will probably make it easily if he's more like Manchin. But he's too much of a leftist so he can't do that. And he wants to make his donors happy.

Why the hell would a state like Montana elect a Democrat?

Montana is a huge retirement state. They traditionally elect Republicans to state office to run the state well and Democrats to Congress to bring home the pork.

There are only @ 750k registered voters in Montana; 538 is a decent sample size @ 98% CON, 5% M/E.

Tester is toast.

It is good news, but the GOPee still has a bunch of RINOS in the Senate. I pray that we get enough of a majority to fight off the RINOS.

Margin of error is not determined by the percentage of voters polled. The number of people who are surveyed is the key determinant.

Senate control is not guaranteed by WV win - that will be give the Republicans only 50 seats.

“Why the hell would a state like Montana elect a Democrat?”

Montana has only re-electerd two Republican senators in it’s history:

Conrad Burns, whom Aster defeated and Steve Daines.

Why the hell do you not understand this?

According to the Montana Secretary of State, there were 468,326 registered voters in the state in 2022 at the general election. That’s with a population of 1.03M.

For comparison, Kansas has 1,975,627 registered voters for a population of 2,944,376.

I’m not sure the sample size isn’t sufficient.

That's kind of myopic.

We’re headed to Montana and Alberta in a couple weeks from Idaho. Stopping in Whitefish, then through Glacier on the way to Waterton Lakes and then to Banff and Lake Louise.

Hope we see a lot of Trump/Vance signs (but probably not many in Missoula, Whitefish or Glacier).
