Wow, Ted is GREAT here!
I think I saw him perform with the “Amboy Dukes” in Creve Coeur, MO in 1968 right around the time “Journey to the Center of the Mind” was being released. He’s always been anti-drug and one of the real good guys.
Oops, I read the whole thread and found out Ted retweeted it and that’s not Ted. I thought he looked too young to be Nugent.
That is super cool! There are so many good bands around that time: Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Velvet Underground, Humble Pie, the Faces.
Saw Ted in Little Rock back in the early 90’s and while onstage he was pointing out people who were smoking joints to the fedzilla who were in the crowd front center.
The Lady I was dating then worked in the Bar and Grill on the 1st floor of the building and the fedzilla were up on the 4th floor and they were in for Lunch and then Happy Hour would start for them right after they finished Lunch so We knew who they were. They would often get a few drinks in them and start talking and joking about the raids they had pulled off. Several of them were at Mt. Carmel (Waco) arson/fustercluck/murders of the Branch Davidians.
I had to leave the place when I heard them laughing and joking about it...
Uncle Ted showed up at the end of a ZZ Top concert in Belton a few years back. It was a total surprise... to the audience anyway. They did a few jams then called it a night. That concert was awesome.
