I think I saw him perform with the “Amboy Dukes” in Creve Coeur, MO in 1968 That is super cool! There are so many good bands around that time: Moby Grape, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Velvet Underground, Humble Pie, the Faces.

Yep. There was an obscure one named “Fever Tree” that played at the same club.
Saw Iron Butterfly at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, too.
