My youngest son had cancer surgery in 2019 for polyps. Had two resections done. They took out over 70 lymph nodes, and he went through 6 months of chemo treatments. He got a blood clot in his lung from the chemo, and had to give himself injections of Heparin for the remainder of his treatments.
You have to check ingredients on the label. You can get pure stevia without the erythritol. I suspect the cheaper price stevia also has erythritol to bulk it up.
Check your Stevia ingredients. Stevia Leaf Extract doesn’t have erythritol.
I did check mine, first thing this morning as I was making my coffee. Erythritol is the first ingredient. Unless I can find a version of Stevia that does not contain that crap, I will never consume Stevia again. I am sure that there are some brands (perhaps organic ones) that do, but I need to know that for certain.
I will never know, but now I will forever be wondering whether the Stevia that I consumed had any significant contribution to my heart attack. In view of this study, it certainly didn’t help me. So much for following conventional wisdom.
As an aside, I ended up putting about a teaspoon of honey in my coffee, and it was just fine. I am sticking to natural, God-designed, substances as much as I possibly can going forward.

I will have to try it. Sugar alcohols are a no-no for me but I have found over the years that I can consume fewer and fewer fake sweeteners. Stevia and monkfruit in their pure form is about the only things left and Stevia has a weird aftertaste to me and monkfruit I find makes everything taste sort of sweet.

3 years+ after 3 jabs of Moderna, knock on wood, I have zero blood clots, zero heart attacks, no pains in body, feeling athletic actually at age 84. And when tested positive for covid with mild symptoms at end of 2022, all symptoms disappeared within day and a half, 33 hours to be exact, without any medications. So positive experience overall. But I will not opt for anymore boosters because the newer variety of covid does not seem potent. And we all are gaining immunity constantly from exposure to people.
I’m embarrassed that I diverted to the science on vaccines. The research on sweeteners is important and I hope it leads to a great substitute for sugar without the nasty aftertaste.

My sugar substitute of choice is Splenda (sucralose). I’ve heard that it causes dementia. So, I went to Dr. Google to confirm what is the truth. Most of the information says artificial sweeteners are being investigated for causing dementia. However, they fail to say what sweetener. Finally, I found that aspertame is the culprit. It overstimulate the neurotransmitters, or chemical messengers, in the brain causing cell death. The many comments I read say Splenda is safe to use.
Unless you have active diabetes, I would stay away from artificial sweeteners. I use sugar in my tea and burn up the calories with exercise. Cane Sugar is more natural and I feel safe using it. My wife drank a can of diet-pepsi every day and ended up with cancer. May not have been the pepsi, may be it was genetic. She was non-smoker, non-drinker.

I looked up Erythritol on WebMD. They don’t totally condemn it. The average person can have a little. I use half a teaspoon of Erythritol sweetened hazelnut syrup in coffee every morning, and that’s said to be OK.

It's not that companies really give a flip about 'healthy' it's that sugar in the United States is 'protected' and therefor cost a lot of money in an industrial food processing plant relative to these weird chemicals..
That was my thought exactly.
Would the government lie to cover up mistakes/wrongdoing?
