Great speech by a great man. Let us, in whatever ways we can, emulate him.

I remember watching this live in 1989. I have never rewatched it (including now) and yet from memory one phrase was always stuck with me: “We weren’t just marking time.” No greater understatement by a president. RR changed the world for the better in a huge way during his term.

RR was truly a legend.

I’m only 54, born in 1970, but Reagan was the best president in my lifetime.

Based on my ignorant review of history, DDE was maybe better for the fact he warned everyone about the MIC - and he wasn’t wrong then, or now.

We’re “of an age,” and I agree with you. RR was the best we’ve had. I said in another thread today, though, JD Vance has impressed me in the last week or so as possibly the best *VP* pick I can remember. GHWB was one of RR’s few mistakes.

I remember watching with tears rolling down my face. Reagan was my first presidential vote.

JD Vance will make an excellent Border Czar too.
