Are these the same people we’ve been hearing about that have no flood insurance - though their homes are built on reclaimed swampland?

Not being mean, just asking...

Yes, no flood insurance for most of these homeowners. It is odd that there are several developments around this one that all share the same road (Lorraine Rd.) yet the only one I have been hearing about that flooded was Lauren Meadows. I haven’t heardd of Seasons, Artistry or the other one off of Palmer on the north side flooding.

After hurricane Ian it’s mandatory to have flood insurance.
They people that needed it didn’t have it and the people that didn’t need it never bought it. Now you have to have it even though you high and dry and would never flood.
Gotta subsidize the people that bought in a swamp.
