"Located in a residential area, Chikibontei attracts a large line of customers every day. The regular hamburger steak is huge, so be careful when ordering. Everything is delicious and hearty."
Welcome to our American diet! And heart attacks, diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure and more.
Had a Japanese colleague who ate the same lunches the kids ate every day, hamburgers, fries, etc. Saw him toss the bento box his wife made for him in the trash.
Had a major heart attack and triple bypass surgery and was lucky to survive.
I remember a family member..years ago .. telling about a restaurant with one seat. Think it was somewhere in the mid west.
“Hamburgers and milkshakes?!? But first you must finish your homework!”
Nice photos, but I thought you were going to show us some of that food. I’ve got “Giant Dishes” and Japanese burgers on my mind.
Get on I-75 north to Birch Run (north of flint) and get in line at Tony’s.
Their BLT is made with a pound of bacon.
Everything is huge!
They do have big burgers but also a lot of rice based meals, and it’s funny because every dish has a paragraph long story about how the dish links to some American he met and how it connects to the dish without talking about what the dish at all.
Looks great! What did they serve? How was it?
That’s cool!
Eight slices of American Cheese?!
They can keep it!
American Cheese should be considered a crime against humanity!!!!
What a load of awful western trash. The Japanese are crazy for abandoning their food for this garbage. Someone tell them the west is over.
Sacre bleu cheese!
So that’s where Chuckie Schumer learned to cook cheesy burgers! in Chiba!
American cheese is a weak cheddar, processed to remove its soul and wrapped in its own little transparent death shroud. About the only thing it has going is that it melts well. So does an ice cube. Give me some real cheese.
We have a few places [that I know of] in North Carolina that have limited seating and long lines. One place in Wilson is The Beefmaster. 10 tables, no menu. The place looks like a small brick ranch from the outside. They serve rib eyes, baked potato, Texas toast & all you can eat salad bar [the tomatoes are excellent...the whole salad bar is! Everything is so fresh and tasty]. They have the best steaks around! They bring a slab of beef to the table, ask what size you want as the chef lays the knife on the meat showing different sizes. Oh and you can also order an onion [NOT a blooming onion]. That’s it. Only thing you do is tell them what size steak and how you want it cooked. The current chef is now the owner and started there as a waiter out of school, I think. People tailgate in the parking lot waiting for a table. Once my son and friends ordered a pizza to be delivered to the parking lot while they waited for a table to open up! lol The parking lot is always jam packed too. Some people play cornhole while they wait for a table, drink and just chat with others waiting. Waiter comes out the door and hollers your name when a table opens up. lol
There’s another place in Greenville, NC. B’s-Bar-B-Q. I’ve never eaten there but when heading to Greenville, the line is always LONG at the window. I THINK they only have a few picnic tables set up outside, no seating inside? I’ve been told if you don’t get there early enough they run out of food and close for the day. When they widened the road, it was supposed to go right through where B’s is. So many people complained, they went back and rerouted the new, wider road to go around B’s Bar-Q. lol
It’s OK to be stupid.
Japan has been doing this since the 1860s and loves it. We have all the best quality food from anywhere in the world here and we love it all.
