I won't even argue this - he's 78 and just went through a traumatic assassination attempt, after all. But he's still better than the guy who lost all of his steps and his VP who never had any steps.
Harris/Walz are now selling the message that there is no need to become a grown-up. Perpetual adolescence is fine, just vote for us and we'll take care of all of those nasty little side-effects of freedom for you. Regrettably, this is not an unpopular platform in today's America.
I think they are deliberately mistaking increased caution for "losing a step."
