What is the best version of Gimp or similar image manipulation software that works with Linux?

I do a lot of craft-y stuff...

I have to confess I am not much into working with images so I can’t honestly say personally. But... I have a crew who does. They use Gimp, online graphic tools, and are even into AI and writing graphic novels.

Let me get together with them and see what they recommend for you. :)

Check out krita- free program kind 9f like photoshop- but not quite. I use that instead of gimp-
