Vladimir Putin humiliated as ‘hundreds’ of troops seen captured by Ukraine inside Russia

Ukraine has reportedly captured hundreds of Russian soldiers in a further major blow to Vladimir Putin's army.

-snip-

New video images posted by Ukraine's army appear to show Russian prisoners of war captured during the incursion.

The prisoners include troops from Russia’s 225th Assault Brigade, as well as FSB border guards.

One captured Russian identified himself as 22-year-old Danil Kolesnikov from the Belgorod region.

In a video clip of his interrogation, the soldier said he served in the 488th regiment on the border in the Kursk-Sudzha area.

He was captured early on after Ukrainian troops crossed into Russia on Tuesday.

The soldier told his captors that the regiment's commanders had abandoned them and that "they will die, they will die".

Another video shows around 40 Russians being loaded onto trucks, after which they were taken to Ukraine.

Some reports claim that as many as 300 Russian servicemen had been detained by Ukraine's army.

This is all silly distraction that has and will cost hundreds of more Ukrainian soldiers to die needlessly while Russia continues to advance on the battlefield:

Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson:

https://sonar21.com/the-united-states-israel-and-ukraine-are-shooting-themselves-in-the-foot/

Meanwhile, Ukraine is busy committing military suicide with its PR attack into Russian territory near Kursk. The attacking force lacked air cover and the power to sustain the attack. The Ukrainian troops were savaged by Russian air strikes, artillery and drones. Some have opined that this was a feint or a diversion, i.e., focus Russian attention in the north and then strike at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Maybe, but Ukraine lost significant resources in terms of men and equipment that cannot be easily replaced.

Let’s assume, for the sake of argument, that Ukraine managed to reach Kursk. Okay. How do they resupply their troops and sustain the momentum of the attack. Russia has a wealth of resources — manpower, combat air, artillery and drones — to bog the Ukrainians down and chew them up. Those who believe that this would force Russia to seek a negotiated end to the war are the same delusional clowns who promised that Ukrainian troops would be sloshing around on the beaches of Crimea last summer.

This attack is likely to have the opposite effect — Russia will accelerate its offensive against Ukraine and will not negotiate until Ukraine begs for mercy.

At what point does Putin order tactical nukes to be used to repel further incursions?

Knock off the fearmongering - first use of tactical nukes is quickly followed by all out nuclear was which Putin knows will take him, his family and most Russian out.

Its not happening now or later.

Russian speaking Ukrainians are not Russians. Russians whose homes and families are in Russia would have little allegiance to Ukraine. The Russians who fought for the Nazis wanted to throw out the Stalinist regime.

Get those poor Moscow momma’s boys on phone calls home and start spreading the word in Moscow on what a lousy war Putin has inflicted on them, and how strong and brave the Ukraine forces are. Positive propaganda in the heartland.

This is great. Ukraine wasting resources where they don’t matter. Meanwhile, up north the march continues toward important cities.

There are UKR (by birth) Russian-speaking people in UKR - they are the ones who initiated the incursions last year along with emigrated (from Russia) Russians living in UKR.

They will shortly be asked to participate in the referendum in the Kursk area - remain in Russia or become part of UKR.

Regarding news source: sonar21.com
Totally your prerogative to select news sources for your personal information. JUST BE AWARE much disinformation is provided from this source :)

IMO, Johnson is not an unbiased source.

Larry C. Johnson is a long-time defender of Russia.
He makes appearances on RT.

“He has been vocal in his defense of Russia against allegations that a Vladimir Putin-ordered hacking campaign was conducted to disrupt the 2016 presidential election and help Trump win. He is also connected to sideney blumentha: a pro-clinton blogger.

In the weeks before the inauguration, Johnson told state-controlled Russia Today that the U.S. conclusion that Russia interfered in the election was “a joke,” and he called the American intelligence community “stupid.” In the same interview, Johnson said: “There’s no evidence on the side of Russia meddling in the U.S. election.”

*The U.S. intelligence community had concluded that Russia did meddle in the election.

Information con’t: https://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/white-house-vladimir-putin-election-hacking-donald-trump-233299

MY CONCLUSION: He regularly makes his appearances on RT.
I just IGNORE his AGITPROP :)

The situation in the Ukraine is not at all like the description provided by this thread. The Ukraine is still losing and causing problems for itself.

I share caution to you and other freepers regarding accepting Alexander Mercouris as a credible source.

He is a disbarred attorney from London. He has become a “pro-Russian commentator on world affairs for Russian TV news outlets and websites.”

I understand Mercouris promotes Russian propaganda and has used poor sources, plagiarized and failed fact checks.

Yeah, mommy, you’re a real expert on CREDIBLE sources.

Your sources, Denys Davydov, The Enforcer, Russian Dude etc., are far less credible than Karine Jean-Pierre, Joy Reid and Kamala Harris.

Kremlin [read Putin Administration] orders propaganda media to compare events in Kursk region with Battle of Kursk
Russian media: Medusa News reports
https://censor.net/en/n3503781

The Vladimir Putin Administration spent almost three days thinking about how the propaganda media should talk about the military operation in the Kursk region and came up with the idea that it should be compared to the Battle of Kursk and assured that Putin “will not leave anyone in trouble.”

According to the publication, the Kremlin ordered the state and loyal media “not to escalate the situation” around the invasion of the Kursk region. This was told by two employees of such media. They are advised to avoid discussions about the opening of a “new front” in every possible way - and to compare what is happening to the Battle of Kursk during World War II.

In addition, journalists are not allowed to talk about the possible advance of Ukrainian troops to the city of Kurchatov, where the Kursk nuclear power plant is located, so that the audience does not have a “feeling of a nuclear threat.”

Instead of mentioning the nuclear power plant, the media should talk about the “successes of the Russian army,” which allegedly prevents Ukrainian troops from advancing deep into the Kursk region. Journalists are advised to focus on the attacks of the Ukrainian armed forces on civilians and emphasize that children were injured during them.

Another recommended focus for news stories is the “unity and cohesion of people” who come to blood donation centers and host evacuated residents of the Suzha district of the Kursk region in their homes.

However, journalists are advised to place special emphasis on the “efforts” of the federal authorities, Vladimir Putin and the government, which “do not leave anyone in trouble.”

Medusa’s interlocutors from pro-Kremlin media outlets note that they received the order ONLY on Thursday afternoon, almost three days after the start of the invasion of the Kursk region. They assume that the Kremlin did not understand the scale of what was happening, so they could not draw up the “guidance on what to do and how” more quickly.
