We had nothing but Dachshunds during our married life. We lost our last one unexpectedly about three years ago and were still heartbroken over it when the cat came along. I am normally very allergic to cats and even some types of dogs, so we were trying to find a home for it. But after having more contact with our big red Siberian it turned out that he didn't cause much of a reaction.

Allergies to cat dander is because the cat doesn’t get enough oils in its diet.
My wife was allergic too, but as long as we give the cat a can of tuna each week no problems.....
