Nowadays you can hold a game device the size of a smartphone in your hand that has hundreds of games.................
She is seriously messed up, her “life is ruined”. She expressed a desire for no leniency. My heart goes out to her. The district should make her wealthy, at least, for putting him with her despite his record, although I don’t think they have done this or will.
I’ve tried to get the county (Santa Cruz, CA) to grant a permit to put a cell tower on my nearby ridge. They refuse. (RF might hurt songbirds) We have no cell service. I started with hp in the ‘70s working on processes and equipment to make all these gismos work. I’ve tried and ditched 4 cell phones. Nothing works here. I’m over it. The expression is ‘Dinosaur’.
FR provides most of my entertainment. I’m ahead.
She needs mental evaluation also.

Being told “no” ...don’t you just want to go psychotic when someone tells you no?
better get me a cheeseburger or else i’m going to flip out!
No, she isn’t a single parent. The father and mother are married.
They adopted him as a baby from foster care. Because of his severe autism, they homeschooled him. When he grew big and strong, they could not handle him, anymore.
So, they put him into a “long-term residential program.” The insurance company refused to continue paying for him to stay there, so the state took his case.
The state put him in a group home, and the group home insisted on putting him in school, despite the parents’ objections.
That’s the real issue here. The institutions were shut down down. So, now, the states have been putting patients in special ed programs at school.
Another issue (IMHO) is that these kids are on multiple psych meds.

It’s complicated. Assets are in timber property and the market is small.
I might disagree with this mother on many issues - for example, she had him on psych meds. IMO, too many kids are put on psych meds.
But, she’s right that race played a factor in his case.
Before he attacked an aide, two other autistic students attacked aides in that school system. Both were white. Both were older than Brendan. And neither of them was sent to prison.
The attack by Brendan on an aide was caught on video. It went viral, and everyone else made it about race.
In his case, the aide did sustain more serious injuries. Still, the other two students also violently attacked aides, and they were returned to their group homes.

All three should be placed into institutions. Not school, not group homes, and not prison.
I saw that too. Described his continued violence even in custody. Dude’s an animal and deserves to be in a cage. For a long time. I don’t think he will survive.
