I never wore a sword on a hot date. Seems like a nice touch tho. Should be mentioned in the etiquette book someplace. It’s not like I never had a sword——just didn’t think about it.

I wore a sword on a hot date. It was for a Full Dress White Dining Out and it was with my wife. Why Full Dress White was specified and not Service Dress White was specified I don't know.

I did go to a function at the War College where the uniform specified was Tropical White. So I wore shorts. When asked why I was in shorts, I showed the invitation noting that it said Tropical White and not Tropical White Long which is what they meant. I was in the correct uniform. I'm glad I wasn't the Flag Lieutenant that day.

Not me.

One of my favorite uniforms, which I only got to wear three times, was Service Dress Blue Yankee. Also not me.
