Grenades in the fuel tanks? There wasn’t time to do much actual disabling. The units that were in use at the time did suffer from much dash board damage and thrown away keys. But most of the abandoned units were parked, with no one even close by. But Mumbles order to abandon came too quickly to help with serious damage. Worse than that, Mumbles, Austin Milley, turned those same grenades over to the muzzies.
All those parked units speak to how bleeping over-stocked the operation was. Gotta keep the cash rolling to the milindcomplex, you know?

one would think the filler opening would be small enough not to accommodate a frag or baseball grenade.
Can you imagine an MRAP disabled because of a grenade in the gas tank ? They’d have to change the name.
