CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - North Charleston Police say they responded to the Bojangles on Ladson Road after a fight broke out between multiple people and an employee.
A report states that officers responded to the 3600 block of Ladson Road around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday regarding a call for service for a commercial panic alarm.
While en route, police were advised by Charleston County deputies that there was an active fight going on at the location.
Police said the victim, an employee at the store, was behind the front counter when the suspects, among which two women, entered the business. One of the two women told the victim that she wanted to fight after one of the other people she entered with lost a previous fight. Police believe between four and six subjects entered the business in order to intimidate the victim.
The victim told police that she removed her shoes and socks as the suspects went behind the counter to challenge her to a fight. The victim said she verbally challenged the suspects before they began to assault her.
Police said a second victim, who was working the drive-thru window, had attempted to break up the fight and was later assaulted by one of the suspects.
The victims and a witness advised that the suspects had been sitting outside of the Bojangles on several occasions in an attempt to wait out the first victim, possibly over the course of a month.
EMS responded to the scene and evaluated both victims.
The first victim, who was the target of this assault, suffered a broken fingernail, a broken toenail and sustained a bite, which broke the skin, to her inner left bicep.
The second victim suffered injuries to her elbow.
The suspects in this case have not yet been arrested or identified.
So, they're not employed.
Shocker.
